Kiosk Not Powering On

This article provides troubleshooting steps to take if the kiosk is not powering on.

 

How can I tell if the kiosk is not turning on?

	The circular power button found on the back of the kiosk is gray and does not illuminate a green or blue light after being pressed and verifying the power cable is fully plugged in.
	The power switch found on the back of the Side UX does not illuminate a red light despite being in the ON (I) position and verifying the power cable is plugged in.
	The Side UX display is completely black (with no text present on the display). If you see text present on the display, please see our other display troubleshooting articles found within Basic Troubleshooting.
	No internal multicolor LED lights are illuminated inside of the kiosk (viewed from behind within the fan holes). No fan movement is coming from the fans within the back of the kiosk.

 

Step 1

Confirm Outlet Receives Power

1. Trace both power cables to the outlet they are plugged into
2. Plug in an outlet tester (or even a phone charger with a phone plugged in) to test if the outlet is receiving power
   • If the outlet is not receiving power, contact your onsite team to address the outlet's power
   • If the outlet is receiving power, move onto Step 2 ⬇️

 

Step 2

Try Different Outlets

1. Plug the kiosk and side UX into an alternative outlet 
2. If the kiosk or side UX is plugged into a surge protector, try plugging the power cables directly into an outlet instead
3. If the kiosk is still not powering up after trying different outlets and pressing the circular button, move onto Step 3 ⬇️
