Byte Basic Requirements

This article will cover all of the basic requirements you will need to get Byte up and running for the first time.

 

Cloud Credentials

Your cloud credentials are the gateway to the entire Mashgin ecosystem. Cloud credentials give you access to Cloud and Creator. Cloud is a reporting platform that gives you a quick glance at your location's performance. Creator allows you to do menu management.

Cloud access is granted during the beginning of any Mashgin hardware installation, however if you haven't received a welcome email yet or forgot your password, please reach out to our support team at [e-mail]. Keep in mind that all Cloud access requests will need to be done through your work email.

💡 Tip: If you are unable to find the welcome email to create your Cloud password, please check your junk mail with the subject line "Welcome to Mashgin Cloud". Sometimes these emails get filtered here due to your employers firewall policy. Also, keep in mind that reset links expire within 24hrs. If you need your password reset, please reach out to [e-mail].

Menu Management and Configuration

Creator is your gateway to ingesting and configuring your menu for your location. You will need to have your menu pre-configured before starting Byte. If you haven't used Creator before, we recommend you to read our Creator Overview article.

Here is what you'll need to get your menu all set up: 

1. Add menu items or import your menu.
   • Check out Adding Items and / or How to Import/Export a Menu
     
     
2. Add and Configure Stations.
   • Check out Building Stations in Creator
     
     
3. Add and Configure Dayparts.
   • Check out Adding a Custom Daypart (Meal)
     
     
4. Assign Dayparts to menu items in your station.
   • Check out Assigning a Daypart to an Item
