This article will detail the settings found within the Manager Mode screen in the Byte app.
Accessing the Manager Mode Screen
To access Byte's Manager Mode in Order Mode, tap the Mashgin logo in the top left corner 3 consecutive times. To access Byte's Manager Mode in Kitchen Mode, press the gear ⚙️ icon in the top right corner.

Within Order Mode, enter your location's password. If you are unsure of the password, please reach out to help@mashgin.com. Please Note: entering Kitchen Mode main menu does not require a password as kitchen mode is a back-of-house mode.
Manager Mode Overview
- DETAILS: This is where you can see and confirm which location the Byte application is signed into. This shows you the Mashgin Location ID, Name, Timezone, and Region for your location. Keep in mind that this is NOT the tablet's timezone.
- REMOTE ID: This is to be provided to Mashgin Support only. This ID allows a Mashgin Support technician the ability to troubleshoot remotely and access the Byte application.
- CONNECTION: This will show you whether or not the app is successfully communicating to our servers. You are able to see real-time updates regarding the Network Status and Sync Status.
- LOCAL IP: This is the IP address of the tablet.
- APP UPDATE INFO: This section informs you of the Byte app's update status.
- SETTINGS: This section will allow you to edit the Order Mode or Kitchen Mode settings.
- SYNC DB: Pressing this button will sync any recently made changes to your menu into the Byte app.
- DEVICES: Devices allows you to test peripherals as well as see the tablet's connection status to the internet and our servers.
- LOGOUT: Pressing this allows you to log out of the Byte application. Keep in mind that all settings reset after logging out.
- RESTART: This restarts the Byte application. If you need to restart the tablet, press and hold the power button.
- QUIT: This quits out of the Byte application and brings you into Kiosk Lite Manager. Check out Kiosk Lite Manager article for more information.
- VERSION: This is where you can find which release version your Byte app is running.
