Frozen UI Elements
Symptom: Some UI elements are stuck or unresponsive.
Possible Solutions:
Reload UI
- Go to settings main page within Order Mode or Kitchen Mode
- Press "Reload UI"
Stop and Start the Byte App
- If issue persists, press "Quit"
- Within Kiosk Lite Manager, press "Stop"
- Press "Start" to restart the Byte app
Reboot Tablet
- Press and hold the power button on the back of the tablet to turn it off
- Then, press the power button to turn it back on
Power Cycle Tablet
- Turn the tablet off
- Disconnect the power cord for at least 30 seconds
- Reconnect the power cord
- Turn the tablet on
Unresponsive Touch
Symptom: The touch screen does not respond when attempting to press buttons.
Possible Solutions:
Reboot Tablet
- Press and hold the power button on the back of the tablet to turn it off
- Then, press the power button to turn it back on
Power Cycle Tablet
- Turn the tablet off
- Disconnect the power cord for at least 30 seconds
- Reconnect the power cord
- Turn the tablet on
Stuck in Landscape Mode
Symptom: The orientation of the UI is not shifting to portrait mode.
Possible Solutions:
Toggle Portrait Mode
- Go to settings main page within Order Mode or Kitchen Mode
- Press "Settings"
- Press "Screen"
- Ensure "Portrait Mode" is toggled on
Rotate System Screen
- Go to settings main page within Order Mode or Kitchen Mode
- Press "Settings"
- Press "Screen"
- Press "Rotate System Screen"
- Press "Left" or "Right" depending on the orientation of your tablet to force Byte to rotate
