Scale Sticking

This article provides troubleshooting steps to take if the scale is "sticking".

 

What does "Scale Sticking" mean?

When a scale "sticks", it means that the scale does not reset back to zero when an item is removed.

 

Step 1

Check "Hold" Function

	If the "Hold" function is toggled on, you can press the Hold button on the top left of the blue Brecknell display to toggle this function off.
	💡 The "Hold" function can be used to freeze a displayed number, but interferes with Mashgin checkout. If the "Hold" function is toggled, the scale will "remember" the heaviest weight placed on the scale, even if the item causing the weight is removed. The kiosk will still believe there is an item on the scale.

Step 2

Check for Physical Interference

	Remove the shield from the top of the scale and investigate to see if any cables are pressing against any internal components of the scale. 🚨 Remember to "Tare" your scale afterwards.
If you are still experiencing issues, move onto Step 3 ⬇️

 

Step 3

Check for Other Causes

	Check to make sure the security screw has been removed. If the scale is not accurate or changing weight depending on item position, the security screw needs to be removed. This security screw is located under the scale. This screw is mean to keep the scale steady during transportation only.
	Check to make sure the scale is level. Looking at the level on the top of the scale, make sure it is centered within it's hole.
