This article provides troubleshooting steps to take if the scanner on the front of the Side UX is not scanner barcodes or QR codes.
💡 HELPFUL TIP: You can test the functionality of the scanner by doing a test scan.
- Go to Manager Mode
- Advanced
- QC Scripts
- QR
- Attempt scanning any barcode or QR code
- You will know it successfully scanned if a number populates within the blank box

Step 1
Check that the Side UX is On
- Check the power switch on the back of the Side UX to ensure it is set to the ON (I) position
|

- One way to tell if the scanner is receiving power from the Side UX is to see if the red lights illuminate on the scanner when something is placed in front of it

Step 2
Unlatch Back of Side UX
- Use the silver latch on the back of the Side UX to open the cover and view the USB connections inside
|

Step 3
Reseat Scanner Cable
- Reseat the USB cable labeled "QR Scanner"
- If the cables are not labeled and you are unsure of which USB cable is connected to the scanner, reseat all of the USB cables plugged into the hub inside of the Side UX
