How to Install a Printer

Prepare your new printer for operation with this simple step-by-step guide.

 

Step 1

Unbox Your Printer & Verify Parts

• Take the printer out of its box and packaging
• Confirm that all components are included:
  • Printer
  • USB cable
  • Power brick and cable
  • Starter paper roll
  • Plastic cylindrical piece to hold paper roll in place

 

Step 2

Insert Power Brick & Feed Cables

Open the top latch of the Side UX Remove the four screws holding the silver metal housing in place Remove the silver metal housing Attach the power adapter within the Side UX to the power brick Place the power brick under the silver metal housing Secure it in place with the four screws Feed the cable through the holes in the side of the Side UX

 

Step 3

Connect the Cables to the Printer

Connect both the USB cable and power cable into the back of the printer into their respective ports

 

Step 4

Connect the Printer Cable to the Kiosk

Connect the printer's USB cable to the designated port on the back of the kiosk, which is the second USB port below the power button

Load Printer Paper

Step 6

Turn the Printer On

Switch the power button on the back of the printer to the ON (I) position

 

Step 7

Test Feed & Print

Press the "Feed" button on the top of the printer to let a little more excess paper feed out of the slot Go to Manager Mode > Advanced > QC Scripts > Printer Press "Print Test Page" If this does not work, please see Printer Not Printing for more details
