This article show you step-by-step instructions on how to set up a Legacy Container.

Step 1

Create the Container Item
- Click on the "Add Item" button.
- Add Container Name.
- We recommend adding the word "container" to the name so you can easily identify it later on.
- Set the price to $0
- The container itself won’t be sold; it’s used to group sellable items together
- Leave availability to "All Day"
- This ensures the container is available all day as the items held within the container will have their respective day-parts.
- Click on Create.
🚨 Please Note: Adding a price, and/or setting the container’s availability to a specific day-part may cause issues for customers during checkout.

Create the Item to be contained
*if your item is already created please move to Step 3
- Click on the "Add Item" button.

Add the item name.

Set the price.
- Add the Day-Part availability
- This ensures the item is only available for sale during the specified time. To configure your day-parts please check: How to Add Day Parts.
- Add any relevant tags

Tags are a powerful tool for grouping items into categories for reporting. Additionally, Functional Tags let you customize an item’s behavior at checkout.
- Click the Create button.

Add Item Relations
- Navigate to "Item Relations" and click the + button.

Select the type of relationship:
- If you're in the container item's details, select the Parent option.
- If you're in the sellable item's details, select the Child option (Example 👈🏻).
- Select the respective Item or Container.

Click the "OK" button.

Click the "Save" button.

- Navigate to the "Item" page in Manage Mode.

Search for the container item

Pose the container.
🚨 Please Note: Do NOT add poses of the physical container to the item, as this will cause issues during checkout. The poses must be applied to the container item. Additionally, ensure the item has the correct day-part assigned.

Let's Recap!
Here are a few important reminders to keep in mind:
- Only the container should have poses.
- Items should never have poses.
- If multiple items are available in the same day-part, the kiosk will prompt the customer to choose which one they have.
- If only one item is available within the day-part at checkout, the kiosk will automatically select it.
