Checkout Flow
Customer places item(s) on the base of the kiosk. | |
Customer retrieves their VenueNext QR Code and scans the code on the Side UX scanner. |
🚨 Important Notices about QR codes:
- QR codes are single-use -- once scanned, the code will rotate and generate a new one.

End users may attempt to screenshot their QR codes to share them, but doing so will result in payment rejection or the discount not being applied.
- Please ensure you retrieve a fresh QR code within the VenueNext app.
The kiosk sends QR data to VenueNext to verify any eligible discounts.
If the customer has virtual currency or a credit card stored in their wallet, these will be applied first to cover the transaction amount. If neither is available, the kiosk will proceed with a split payment option. |
What is the Drain Order?
- VenueNext will always drain Store Value (Virtual Currency) first before charging the Credit Card stored within the VenueNext wallet.
- If neither a credit card nor sufficient virtual currency is available to cover the transaction amount, the kiosk will automatically initiate a split payment option.
Supported Features
- Discounts: Special promotions for eligible users.
- Stored Value (Virtual Currency): Pre-loaded balances within the app for easy transactions.
- QR Pay: A secure payment method using credit cards loaded directly into the app.
Discounts in VenueNext
VenueNext provides two types of discounts:
- Season Ticket Holder Discounts: Exclusive offers for season ticket holders to enhance their loyalty experience.
- Affiliation Discounts: Special discounts based on affiliations, such as partnerships with organizations or institutions.
It's important to note that discounts are not tied to specific items (SKU/POS ID) but are instead applied at the user or transaction level. This allows for flexible promotions across a wide range of purchases.
Affiliation to Reference ID - Creator Formatting Rules:
When converting affiliations to reference IDs, follow these guidelines:
- All capital letters are converted to lowercase.
- All spaces are replaced with underscores (
_
). - Hyphens remain unchanged.
