Summary
FreedomPay is a payment gateway that utilizes Ingenico card readers.
Checkout Flow
Customer places item(s) on the base of the kiosk. | |
Customer uses credit / debit card or tap to pay on the Ingenico reader in order to complete transaction. |
Requirements
- Confirm with Mashgin Support that the payment credentials are in place.
- Mashgin needs the following pieces of information prior to software installation:
- Store ID
- Terminal ID
- DMP Key
How to Acquire the DMP Key
- The DMP (Device Management Portal) key can be found and generated in the Freedom Pay Enterprise Portal for anyone who has admin access.
- If a DMP key is needed, the client needs to open a case with FreedomPay to request the DMP key for their account.
Installation
- Confirm with Mashgin Support you are on-site before plugging in the payment device. The payment reader should be plugged into the USB port located directly underneath the power button.
- Once instructed, navigate to Manager Mode > Advanced > FCC
- Select UAT, Prod, Or Prod-No-Offline depending on the desired package followed by “Install”
- UAT: User Acceptance Testing
- Prod: Production, Offline Accept is enabled
- Prod-No-Offline: Production, Offline Accept is disabled
- Select UAT, Prod, Or Prod-No-Offline depending on the desired package followed by “Install”
- Once installation is complete, the payment reader will display “Secured by FreedomPay” and the FCC/PAL details will auto-fill. Please Note: the reader will reboot several times during the installation. Do not continue until it completed the reboot cycles.
- Perform a test transaction to confirm successful installation. During the transaction, you should be able to see the message “WELCOME TO MASHGIN” followed by transaction total amount. If you run into any issues, notify Mashgin Support at help@mashgin.com.

Store and Forward (Offline Payments): The kiosk captures payment data during instances where the network connection is not consistent and allows the payment to still go through. Payment data will then be uploaded once network connection is restored.
