Summary
Aurus is a payment gateway that utilizes Ingenico card readers.
Checkout Flow
Customer places item(s) on the base of the kiosk. | |
Customer uses credit / debit card or tap to pay on the Ingenico reader in order to complete transaction. |
Requirements
- Confirm with Mashgin Support that the payment credentials are in place.
- Mashgin needs the following pieces of information prior to software installation:
- Corporate ID
- POS Name
Installation
- Confirm with Mashgin Support you are on-site before proceeding.
- Once instructed, navigate to Manager Mode > Advanced > Aurus
- Select "Prod" followed by “Install”
- Once installation begins, the buttons will be greyed out on the screen and “Version” field will say “Installing”.
- Once Aurus completes installation on the kiosk, the firmware will need to be updated. To accomplish this, follow these sequential steps:
- Place an item on the kiosk to start a transaction.
- Pay for the transaction. Please Note: It does not matter whether the payment fails or completes.
- Remove all items from the kiosk to cancel the transaction.
- The firmware update takes about 20 minutes to complete. The message “Application Download” indicates the process has started.
- If the card reader fails or the firmware doesn’t update, then Aurus should be contacted so they can reset the trigger, and the above steps should be repeated.
- When the reader is in a ready state, it will display a blue “Welcome” screen.
- Perform a test transaction to confirm successful installation. If you run into any issues, notify Mashgin Support at help@mashgin.com.

- Is the kiosk connected to the internet?
- If no, resolve the network connectivity to resume receiving payments.
- Is the reader detected by the kiosk?
- If no, power cycle the kiosk and confirm all cable connections are properly seated.
Payments Are Failing
- Is the kiosk connected to the internet?
- If no, resolve the network connectivity to resume receiving payments.
- Is the reader detected by the kiosk?
- If no, power cycle the kiosk and confirm all cable connections are properly seated.
- Attempt a kiosk Refresh
- Navigate to Manager Mode > Refresh
Reader is Unresponsive

The Aurus service takes one minute for the reader to achieve a ready state in order to accept transactions. In the following instances we need to wait one minute before starting a transaction:

Kiosk services restart (Refresh button was pressed within Manager Mode)
